This quote by Barack Obama is my philosophy exactly. Reading is the one skill that can take you anywhere. And we do promote reading at St. Michael School. St. Michael School has an extensive library for such a small school. We have close to 5,000 books from picture books to Accelerated Reader level 12. Our students start out in picture books and most finish 8th grade reading at or above their grade level.
I started working at St. Michael School as the librarian in September 2003. Since then, I have added Testing Coordinator to that list. In addition to running the library, I organize and supervise all of the state testing, and the assessments required every year.
I love working at St. Michael School! It is a big family and everyone cares for the children as if they were their own. We work tirelessly to insure that every child has the opportunity to be the best they can be. Being able to model our Christian values also makes our school special. Starting and ending our day with prayer makes a huge impact on our students by teaching them how to rely on Jesus in their daily lives.
