SMS Field Day is set for Friday, May 19. Field Day is always a BIG DEAL at SMS. We work hard, and we play hard! The day begins with mass as usual on Friday morning. From there the students will walk with their teachers down to the park behind the post office in Ripley. There, the events will be set up by Mr. Hyde and parent volunteers. Special thanks once again to the Huffman family who will be setting up the obstacle course. If any parents would like to volunteer that day, and are Safe Parish approved, please let us know in the office.
Students will be given their Field Day T-shirts on Thursday, May 18 and should wear them to school on Field Day with athletic shorts, socks and shoes that can get wet/muddy. It's also not a bad idea for them to bring a towel and sun block. We will also have Kona Ice for our students that day. To help offset the cost of the Kona Ice and T-shirts we ask that each student sends in $10 before Wednesday, May 17. Please send your money in an envelope labeled "field day" with your child's name on it.
Field Day is always a fun and memorable event at SMS, and we are looking forward to a great day!
