Good morning! There are some BIG changes coming regarding Edchoice in Ohio, and our families need to be ready to move on it. When the new state budget passes in about a week, Edchoice will be available to more families and possibly all families within SMS and across the state. This will mean likely over $6,000 in tuition for each child in grades K-8.
I highly recommend that all of our Ohio families take advantage of this opportunity. First you need to download and fill out a copy of the Edchoice Request Application. Once you have filled out the application completely, turn it in to the school office, along with each child's birth certificate, and recent utility bill. After that, you will need to create and OHID account and complete your income verification. None of this opens up until July 1, but it would be helpful, and a good idea to get in on this early, as I am certain the Edchoice office will be very busy once this opens up. If your child has already been awarded or is listed as "Eligible" for the Edchoice or the Jon Peterson Scholarship, you don't need to do anything.
This is a gamechanger, and opens up MANY possibilities for the future of SMS. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at the school or shoot me an email!
