On Monday, September 11, our 7th and 8th grade students will be taking a field trip to learn more about Living Lands and Waters. Their mission is “to aid in the protection, preservation, and restoration of the natural environment of the nation’s major rivers and their watersheds”. Our students participate in this a few years ago and it was a very positive, hands-on learning experience. Not only that, the protection, preservation, and restoration of our rivers is extremely important to our community.
Our students will be chaperoned by Mr. Felice, and other members of our staff.
Our students will leave SMS immediately following morning prayer, and travel by bus to the Living Lands and Waters barge which is located near Yeatman’s Cove Park in Cincinnati. Students should pack a lunch.
A permission slip will be coming home tomorrow, which needs to be signed and returned to SMS, and a waiver from Living Lands and Waters will be texted to parents on Tuesday at 5:00 pm which needs to be completed.
We are excited for this great learning opportunity for our students!
