In our second year, the SMS middle school competed with other regional middle schools in Southwestern Ohio in the Stock Market Game conducted by the University of Cincinnati. Our results are now in. As a team the SMS group finished 3rd among all middle schools in the region in growth. This included beating big schools like Mason, Sycamore, Indian Hill, Seven Hills, etc. Griffin Ernst finished 16th overall and Dominik Cropper finished 45th for the top two individual finishers for our group. Griffin earned over $10k on his original investment and all participants earned at least $2k in their perspective portfolios. It was another successful year with this program where the kids get $100k in 'play money' to invest in real-time stocks and learn about investing and how it relates to the US Economy.
Congrats to all our participants as we now move on to personal finance with our Math Enrichment program.
