Two more weeks of Lent, it's starting to feel like Easter is getting close! Just a full week this week, then a three and a half day next and we will be on Easter Break. We have a lot going on between now and then, so please be sure to keep up with all that is going on at SMS!
One reminder for Ripley bus riders, there will be no Ripley bus service at all Tuesday, as RULH schools are closed for the primary election.
Please make sure you are not dropping students off before 7:30. Our school day starts at 7:55, which leaves a 25 minute window for drop off. There will not be any staff on duty at the front door, and before 7:30 teachers are still making copies, etc, and it is not good practice to have students unsupervised in the school. Thank you for your cooperation.
We started our after school tutoring program last week on Tuesday and Thursday, for grades 3-8. If you are interested please email me at least a day ahead of time.
On Wednesday, the 7th and 8th grade will travel to the Otto M Budig Theater in Cincinnati to see Cincinnati Shakespeare's production of Julius Caesar. Please make sure permission slips are turned in no later than Tuesday.
On Thursday, grades 3-6 will visit the Brown County Courthouse to take a tour and learn more about what goes on at the Common Pleas Court. They will also be providing pizza for our students who are visiting. Thanks to Judge Gusweiler and his staff for the invitation!
Also on Thursday, SMS will observe World Down Syndrome Awareness Day. Students may wear any Down Syndrome Awareness t-shirt with jeans (no rips, tears, or holes). If students are not wearing these t-shirts, they should just wear their uniform as usual.
This Friday is our 6th and final fish fry. We have done really well so far, but we need a big week to hit our goal of $30,000 raised for SMS. We still need a lot of help. Again, if you have not yet worked your three shifts, please sign up to work this week. We have times on Thursday and Friday, morning and evening available. This fundraiser benefits ALL SMS students!
Also, this Friday is our $10,000 Drawing! We have already reached our goal of raising $25,000, but tickets are still available all the way up to the drawing at approximately 6:30 pm. The drawing will be held LIVE on the St. Michael public Facebook page. Congratulations to last week's $1,000 winner, Judy Campbell!
Third and fourth grades will be leading us in Stations of the Cross this Friday, beginning at 2:00.
Coming up next week....
Monday- Spirit Day, 5-6 Grade Field Trip to see "Pompeii"
Tuesday- Mass (8:15)
Thursday- Living Stations of the Cross (9:15), EARLY DISMISSAL (12:30)
Friday- Good Friday- No School, Easter Break begins
Finally, we still have a few EdChoice Renewal Applications that we still need to upload. There are also some of you who turned in your application, but have not yet turned in your utility bill. We would like to get those uploaded asap. If you have a child who is new to the EdChoice portal, you should now be able to complete your Income Verification.
Have a great week everybody!
