SMS News

Good afternoon and Happy Mother's Day to all of our amazing moms. We hope you are having a great day! We are down to our last two weeks. Other than a few makeups, and the 8th grade science test, all of our MAP testing is finished for the year.

We have an action-packed week ahead, so let's get to it!

Monday: We checked the creek today, and it looks great, so our 3rd through 8th grade will be visiting Eagle Creek for a science lab led by Mr. Felice. We will have several staff members on site, as well as the Ripley Life Squad to ensure safety for our students. Students should wear clothes appropriate for the creek tomorrow(they will get wet and possibly muddy). They should bring appropriate SMS Spirit Day clothes to change into afterward. They should also bring a towel to help keep clean them up before they get on the bus. All students may wear SMS spirit wear Monday.

Tuesday: This will be a relatively normal day. 8th grade will finish up MAP testing. After school tutoring with Mr. Arn available for grades 3-8.

Wednesday: The 8th grade will take their annual field trip to Education Days at King's Island.

Thursday: After school tutoring with Mr. Arn available for grades 3-8.

Friday: Field Day!

  • If you have not yet sent $10 for your child, please do so

  • Students should wear their Field Day t-shirt (They were sent home this past Friday), athletic shorts, and shoes that can get wet.

  • It would be a good idea to bring towels and sunblock

  • Volunteers (who are Safe Parish compliant) should report to Mr. Hyde at the park by 8:00 to help set up, and get assignments

  • Pizza will be provided for students for lunch (Thanks David and Susan Poole)

  • Kona Ice will be on site between 12:30-1:30 (This will be paid out of the $10 which you sent for your child)
