On Tuesday, October 15, our fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade girls will have a retreat with Sisters from the Children of Mary at the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, Ohio. We will leave on the SMS bus immediately following morning prayer and will return before the end of the school day. Students should pack a lunch in a disposable bag. Cell phones will not be permitted on this field trip, and students should be in uniform. Permission slips are coming home today. This is a great opportunity for our young ladies to grow in their faith!
Also on Tuesday, Mr. Pedigo, Mr. Hyde and SGTMAJ Kokensparger will be leading a retreat for the boys in grades 5-8, at the school. The focus for this retreat is bushcraft; students will work in teams under supervision to learn how to build a fire, how to use a compass, geocaching, and other skills. Students should wear jeans and a t-shirt / sweatshirt and socks and shoes or boots. They should also bring a water bottle. Also, we will have Josh Malott from the Ripley Lifesquad on site for additional safety. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn useful outdoor skills!
