Good evening! We hope everyone had a great long weekend! We are looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow!

Speaking of tomorrow, remember our girls in grades 5-8 have a retreat with the Children of Mary at the Holy Spirit Center. We will leave immediately after morning prayer and return before the end of the school day. The 5-8 boys will have their own retreat, at the school and the park where we have field day.

Thanks to the Smith Family who are providing our students in grades P-4 pizza for lunch tomorrow. They will have a choice of pepperoni or cheese.

Other than tomorrow, the schedule this week should be relatively routine.

This week I will be sending more information to you regarding All Saints Day, the SMS Halloween Party, the Harvest Dinner and more!

Regarding SMS's response to helping with the Hurricane-caused devastation in the south. In the past we might have done something as simple as an out of uniform day to help with this cause. But, after talking about it with our students, I think we need to find a way to help our students do some real good. Knowing that this will be a problem for some time to come, we brainstormed about a way our students could actually help, and not just ask their parents for money. Our plan is to provide our students with an opportunity to help with some charitable work. We believe we have come up with a way to help our neighbors to the south, help our community, and allow our students the opportunity to step up and make a difference.

We have contacted town officials in Georgetown and Ripley in hopes of finding some service projects that our students can do that would benefit the community. If anyone would like to make a donation, we will contribute 100% of all funds directly to relief for Hurricane victims. We are still working on developing this project, so if you have any project ideas or would like to help our school with this project, please feel free to contact me, I am open to good ideas/suggestions!

Have a great week everyone!
