Good afternoon. First, to all of our veterans, thank you for your service. Special thank you to all the veterans who joined us on November 6 for our Veteran's Day program, and particularly to Ron Loebker, who spoke to our students about his experience in the Army. Thanks also to Patty Dengler, who coordinated our program. It is extremely important for us to instill in our students an appreciation for those who serve.

Thanks to Mrs. Ernst and Mrs. Burrows, who provided an opportunity for our students an opportunity to visit the old Ripley Cemetery this week to pray for our dead, one of the corporal works of mercy. Thanks also to Mr. Hyde who started the Chess Club back up this week!

We will have an emergency drill on Wednesday this week under the supervision of our safety consultants and Brown County Sherriff's Department.

On Thursday this week, some of our students will learn and assist with the preparation of lunch, which was part of the grant we received that helped pay for our local beef. This will be a recurring project, with different small groups having the opportunity to help prepare the meal. Thanks to Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Seip for making this happen!

Finally, SMS parent Ali Doss is providing an opportunity to raise a little money for the school, while offering something our families might be interested in. Paper Pie offers cards for different occasions. A box of cards is $30, and SMS will receive $15 for each box sold. This fundraiser is completely voluntary (not like Fish Fry, $10K, and Golf Outing). If this is something you would like to purchase though, please contact Ali Doss at dossalissam@gmail.com to order. I am attaching the order form below.
