Good afternoon SMS Families!
We had a great week, despite the weather being cold and rainy. Before we get into what is going on next week, we have a few reminders today, as we move forward into November, to be sure are on your radar.
We are now in winter uniform dress. No shorts, pants should be black, no cargo pants please. Girls may wear tights or leggings under their skirts and jumpers.
As mentioned earlier in the week, if your student has an out-of-uniform pass, sweatpants, leggings, jogging pants, etc should not be worn. Loose fitting jeans or khakis (no holes or tears) may be worn.
Students should not bring coffee, energy drinks, pop, or slushies to school for any reason, including in lunch boxes. Also, if students are finishing up breakfast on the way to school, please keep them in your car until they are finished.
Finally, we understand that emergencies happen, but if possible please make any calls to the office to change transportation arrangements before 1:00pm. The closer we get to dismissal, the more likely that wires get crossed.
Next week is relatively event-free regarding anything that we would need to schedule around. We plan to get much accomplished with our students!
Reminder, if you would like to order cards from Paper Pie, those orders need to be in to Ali Doss by next Friday the 23rd. Her email is dossalissam@gmail.com. We have raised over $500 on this so far. Thanks for organizing this Ali!
We are also auctioning off an painting donated by Phil and Hazel German titled, "Glory to God in the Highest". It will be at weekend Masses beginning November 23rd to be viewed. If you are interested it will be in my office during the week. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20.
The SMS $10K Giveaway will begin the week of November 25, so everyone will have their tickets for Thanksgiving. We will send home the explanation letter and ten tickets with the youngest child in each family on Tuesday next week. This is one of our three mandatory fundraisers. (golf outing, fish fry)
Speaking of the week of the 25th, just so everyone is prepared, on Tuesday November 26 we will have our annual SMS Thanksgiving dinner for our students and staff. The entire student body will gather in the Hall, give thanks and eat together. This is also an early dismissal day as we dismiss at 12:30. There will be no Ripley afternoon bus this day. School will be closed for Thanksgiving break Wednesday (27th)-Friday (29th). We will resume Monday, December 2, in the season of Advent!
