Nativity

Although we are still in the season of Advent, we will celebrate with our students, a Christmas-themed week, the week of December 16-20. Please do not feel pressure to purchase special costumes or clothing, students may wear uniforms as usual.

Monday- Advent Colors Day

  • Theme: Prepare the Way

  • Dress Code: Wear purple or pink to symbolize the liturgical colors of Advent.

  • Special Touch: Students can add accessories like Advent wreath pins or paper crowns with candles (to symbolize the Advent wreath).

Tuesday- Nativity Character Day

  • Theme: The First Christmas Night

  • Dress Code: Dress up as characters from the Nativity story, such as angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph, or the Three Wise Men.

  • Special Touch: Create a fun group photo of the “living Nativity” with the students.

Wednesday- PJs and the Prince of Peace

  • Theme: Prince of Peace

  • Dress Code: A relaxed day where students can come to school in their favorite (appropriate) pajamas

  • Special Touch: We will be celebrating the joy and peace Jesus brings at Christmas. Activities will be cozy and centered on learning about Christ’s birth and creating a peace filled day for the students. 

Thursday- Christmas Around the World

  • Dress Code: Christmas sweaters/sweatshirts with jeans or uniform pants.

  • Special Touch: Participate in Google Meet with people from around the world (Thanks Heather Boldman)

  • There will be Christmas Snacks that are popular around the world!

Friday- Joy to the World

  • Students will sing Christmas carols around the school.

  • Students will share what brings them joy during the Advent season and how they can spread that joy to others.

  • Dress Code: In Uniform

  • School mass at 8:15, students will be dismissed at 12:30. No Ripley afternoon bus service.
