SMS students and parents are invited to attend a Rankin Hill hike and stargazing event with Ms. Burke and Mr. Pedigo. Attendees will meet at the SMS parking lot at 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 6th and hike to the historic Rankin House. Following the hike, students and parents will have the opportunity to view stars, planets, and constellations using telescopes, courtesy of Ms. Burke. Hot chocolate will be provided, and SMS students in 5th-8th grade will, prior to the event, study a primer curriculum on constellations and stars visible in early spring (wildearthlab.com). We encourage students and parents to bundle up, bring a flashlight, and get ready for a wonderful adventure!
