I hope everyone is having a blessed Holy Week. Tomorrow is Holy Thursday, and will be the last day of school before our break. We will return to school on Wednesday, April 23. I would like to welcome all of our families to the Masses and Services over the next few days, culminating in our Easter celebration! There is Holy Thursday Mass here at 5:30 pm, and adoration from 6:30-midnight. Good Friday services are at St. George in Georgetown at 1:00, and Station of the Cross at St. Mary's at 7:00 pm. Easter Vigil is at St. Mary's as well, beginning at 8:45 pm Saturday, and Easter Sunday Mass is at St. Michael at 9:00 am, and Noon at St. George.

At SMS we believe in the importance of volunteerism, and we also understand that it is important to help in our community whenever we can. We have a great opportunity to help our community on Saturday April 26 at Ripley Community Cleanup Day. I realize that giving up a Saturday morning is a sacrifice, but I am asking that our students in grades 5-8 come help that morning. We will begin at 8:30 am at the Thrift Shop on Main St. we will be pulling weeds, sweeping sidewalks, and picking up trash. Students do not need to bring anything but are encouraged to wear SMS spiritwear and, might want to bring work gloves. I will be sending home a permission slip as we get closer to the date. Thanks in advance!

Check out our friend Rose, who was featured on Channel 9 News. Rose is a great student-athlete and did a wonderful job in her interview. Great job Rose!

The SMS Spring Dance for grades 5-8 is scheduled for Friday, April 25 from 6-8 pm in the Parish Hall. We still have several items need for the dance. To help, click here. Thanks to everyone who signed up so far to donate the items requested to help!
