The 7th Annual SMS Golf Outing was held this past Saturday at Friendly Meadows Golf Course in Hamersville, Ohio. It was a record-breaking fundraiser for our school this year with 136 golfers and 116 sponsors, we were able to raise $19,340 for SMS!
The weather was great, and fun was had by all. We owe a huge thank you to our 116 sponsors. We would also like to send special thanks to Howerton Construction and John Wood Insurance for providing the food for our players. Thanks to Georgetown Marble and Granite for providing drinks and snacks, as well as sponsoring one of our two $10,000 hole-in-one opportunities. Thanks to RTS for sponsoring the other $10,000 hole. Thanks to Brian and Tonya Nead, Christy Fetters, Bethany Heslar, Debbie Heslar, Missy Bahnsen, Bernadette Wireman, Dani Henson, Amber Noel, Ashton Arn, Teresa Offutt, Lori Chamblin, Betty Dahlheimer, Lisa Miller, Kim Pedigo, Susen Arn, Sarah Burrows, Jessi Owens, Xavier and Gunner Ernst for volunteering, and making the day run smoothly. Thanks also to Friendly Meadows for hosting the event.
We would also like to thank all of our families who donated prizes. Not only did every player receive an SMS gift bag which included a sleeve of golfballs, SMS poker chip ball mark, SMS coozie, and 2 drink tickets, but everyone also received a door prize! We also had plenty of prizes for our winners. The first place team was Chris Tracy, Jerod Jodrey, Shawn Farley, and CJ Dorsey. The second place team was Bill Geschwind, Karen Geschwind, Logan Fetters, and Sherri Griffith. There was a tie for third place between the teams of TJ Huff, Joe Huff, Chris Huff, and DJ Dull and Ryan Ernst, Dick Zurbuch, Alex Zurbuch, and Brad Zurbuch. The men's long drive winner was Shawn Farley. The women's long drive was Amy Hanlon. The two closest to the pin winners were Dick Zurbuch and TJ Hanselman. The two longest putt winners were Jason Inskeep and Noah Spaulding. Congratulations to all!
