The First Grade has had a busy week preparing for Christmas! Students have been studying a mini-unit on “Holiday Around the World” that included Mexico (Las Posadas), Sweden, Germany, Israel, and Italy! The Children sampled several treats from around the world and learned about the cultural differences of people celebrating Christmas.
Another highlight was the celebration of The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Our day began with Mass with Father Amberger, and later in the day we participated in several fun activities focused on the Immaculate Conception. We have a marvelous resource with our Saint Michael religious instructors, Mrs. Ernst and Mrs. Mulvaney! The students were instructed on the meaning of this holy day through wonderful and thoughtfully planned activities in the Parish Hall! Thanks to their tutelage we are able to keep the true meaning of Christmas a priority!
